Doğanbey Neighborhood 7293 block 2 parcel Civil Architecture Sample Reconstruction Work

We take our experience in restoration one step further with reconstruction projects where we bring a destroyed historical building back to life by remaining faithful to its original identity. In cooperation with Osmangazi Municipality, we reconstructed a registered civil architecture example in Bursa's historic Doğanbey Neighborhood, which had disappeared over time, in accordance with its originality in the light of its existing documents and remains.

Purpose and Importance of the Project

Reconstruction is the revitalization of historical buildings that cannot be saved by restoration or that have completely disappeared, based on documentary evidence. This project aims to restore this lost building, which creates a gap in the historical fabric of Doğanbey Neighborhood, to the memory and silhouette of the city. This work is not only a construction activity, but also the restoration of a cultural heritage.

Our Expertise in the Reconstruction Process

Rebuilding a building from scratch, while remaining faithful to its historical identity, requires a special expertise. The work we are doing in this process:

  • Full Compliance with Historical Data: We adhered to the approved reconstruction project prepared in the light of existing photographs, drawings and archival documents regarding the original state of the building with millimeter precision.
  • Traditional Construction Techniques and Material Selection: In the reconstruction of the building, we used traditional construction techniques and authentic, natural materials to reflect the architectural spirit and character of the period.
  • Revitalization of Original Details: From the foundation to the roof, we manufactured and applied all architectural elements of the building (structural system, facade layout, window and door joinery, ornamental elements, roof cover) from scratch by being faithful to the original details.

Result of the Project

Thanks to this reconstruction project completed with the technical capacity and expert team of our company, Doğanbey Neighborhood has regained a lost value and a gap in the historical street texture has been filled in accordance with the original. This project is an important reference that proves our company's competence in the field of reconstruction, one of the most challenging conservation applications.
