Bursa-Mustafakemalpaşa Atariye Mosque Restoration Work
Located in Mustafakemalpaşa District of Bursa province, the work built during the reign of Abdulhamid II, one of the Ottoman sultans, has continued to be used as a mosque until today. The work, which has been subjected to many interventions from the period it was built to the present day, has lost its originality to a great extent, and it was restored to its original state with the restoration work carried out and reopened to worship in early 2018.

Project Description:
The mosque, which was built during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II, has been subjected to various interventions throughout history and has lost its original architectural texture to a great extent. Within the scope of this project, the building was restored in accordance with its historical identity and reopened for worship in early 2018.
The restoration work includes the following main stages:
- Preparation of detailed survey, restitution and restoration projects of the building
- Identifying and preserving the original architectural elements and renovating them in accordance with the original
- Removal of inappropriate interventions added over time and restoration of original materials
- Strengthening the structural system and increasing static strength
- Preservation of the historical texture with facade, roof and interior restoration
- Conservation and restoration of artistic and ornamental elements
This project is an important step towards the preservation of historical and cultural heritage and has helped the mosque to regain its unique aesthetic and architectural identity.
